I've got to the conclusion I deeply dislike What's Wrong With Secretary Kim.

All the side characters are endlessly fucking annoying, especially that red lipstick girl, the main man is a narcissist that doesn't actually grow at all, still calling himself perfect in every way in episode 10, the 'mystery' is taking forever, the main girl's family are irritating as hell, there's simply no reason for the main girl to like the main guy, and what's more, she seems annoyed by him half the time, like rolling her eyes at his antics.

He would need about a year of therapy to even come close to being able to be in a successful relationship; the older sisters were taken care of by the younger sister/main girl, but still act superior, all mighty, and nosy. I've taken to fast forwarding through any of the side plot, especially asshole frugal man and new secretary lady, jesus christ. I don't know what it is, but 95% of the characters in this show do not act like people, they are caricatures, or act like literal children. The only one with sense is the main guy's best friend. He's cool.

Oh good, the next day he forces himself into her apartment and tires to move in. This man is a child, with no boundaries, and a truly sickening amount of entitlement.

Wait. So, the older brother who got his little brother kidnapped, felt guilty or something, so he stole his little brother's experience for himself? He just took his little brother's bedroom, and screamed that he got kidnapped because of him? And the parents....went along with this? Man, fuck this kid, and fuck these parents. Jesus christ what a convoluted nonsense plot.

and if I said that dennis’ insistence on being the breadwinner/provider despite literally being a pampered princess who dgaf about traditional roles of masculinity in every other regard (aside from ego) is because his mom only stayed with/chose frank for his wealth and dennis is highly aware that he’s difficult to love and unable to show his emotions openly so he has to be contributing something to the relationship materially in order to feel like he’s worth staying for… and mac grew up with parents who were extremely ambivalent to him and eachother so he has to overcompensate by proving his worth at every given moment and seeking praise/validation from people (and religious icons) who will never demonstrate the same amount of dedication to him but he has no idea how else to desperately keep himself close to those he loves other than by eroding himself into something they’ll approve of… dear god they’re both exactly what the other needs — someone who can’t and won’t leave them even if they try — and they don’t even see it…

Eidolon is honestly one of my favorite incredibly tragic tertiary characters in worm. Clearly raised his whole life getting the message that your life only has any value whatsoever if you're useful (and that he equally clearly did not meet the bar), to the point that when Cauldron found him he was about to kill himself after getting rejected by the army.

And then absolutely never outgrew that bone-deep belief, just now he has enough power to be useful - the most useful, even! And the idea of that slipping away as the booster shots grow less effective is driving him to the brink even before he learns just how far his power had gone to make him essential.
